About

Presbyopia in a nutshell.

A physiological condition that affects 1.8 billion people today, and gradually takes away your eyes’ ability to focus up close — on a book, a menu, a phone.

Technology

How Glassless works.

Glassless learns the compensation mapping with a neural network, rather than the iterative image-processing approach used in most published research. That shifts the cost off the device at run time and keeps correction responsive on consumer hardware.

  • 01

    User input

Glassless starts from a small amount of data about the user's eye — their near-vision prescription and viewing distance — and builds a personal vision profile that the rest of the pipeline is tuned to.

  • 02

    Distortion simulation

That profile drives an optical model of the eye: how the user's refractive error spreads light from each display pixel across the retina. The model predicts what the person actually perceives, not what the panel emits.

  • 03

    Image processing

The content is then re-rendered so that, once it passes through the modelled eye, it lands sharp. Text and edges are pre-compensated in real time, frame by frame, at interactive latency.

  • 04

    Screen-based compensation

The corrected frame is shown on the display itself. No lenses, no wearables, no additional hardware in front of the user — the panel does the work.
